Two pathways, one club
Every chapter runs both tiers. A player can sit in either for as long as they want, and move between them at any season break. No tryout required to stay recreational, no ceiling on a player who is ready to compete.

Built so a nine-year-old who has never held a paddle finishes the season having played real, scored matches, and wants to sign up again.
How a rec season works
Eight weeks, one match night per week at the home chapter. Teams are drafted within the chapter and balanced by coach assessment. Doubles rotation means every player plays every week, no bench. It ends with a chapter round robin and a medal night in week eight.
Eight match nights, FYPA membership, a club shirt, a loaner paddle for first-season players, medal night, and an end-of-season coach report.
Drop off ten minutes early, stay or go. No volunteer scoring or line-judging is asked of parents.
Any rec player can be assessed for a travel squad at a season break. Coaches flag candidates late in the season, and assessment sessions run between seasons.
Chapter against chapter
Travel squads compete across three Broward divisions (North, Central, and South) in a team format, so a player wins or loses with four names on the sheet rather than one. Each chapter fields a squad of four, two boys and two girls, per age division: girls' doubles, boys' doubles, and two mixed doubles matches, with a singles tiebreaker played only when a tie is level at 2–2.
Ten divisional ties across the season, home and away, within Broward County. Division winners meet at a finals day, and both FYPA sanctioned tournaments, the Fall Classic and the Spring Open, are part of the competitive calendar.
Squads are picked each season by chapter coaching staff on assessed play, attendance, and conduct. A player not selected keeps their place in the Rec League without paying twice.
